This morning, Instagram is experiencing problems that are preventing thousands of users from sending Direct Messages (DMs) on the platform.
It’s not just you, so don’t worry. Instagram is currently completely down. Instagram users report that the social media app is having several technical issues this morning, such as the inability to send Direct Messages (DMs).
Down Detector, a service outage tracking tool, reports that the problems started Tuesday at around 5:14 p.m.
There is currently a sharp increase in complaints that Instagram is having problems, according to Down Detector, which keeps track of “when services go down or have outages.” This is a significant issue for the Meta-owned photo-sharing network, as seen by the more than 2,000 mentions.
Some Tweets After Instagram is Down
“Ignored your DM? No, I didn’t!! Instagram is down!!” One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter)
One X user said: “Is it me or is everyone else also not able to send DM on Instagram?”
Messages aren’t arriving and display ‘failed to deliver’ after a few minutes, according to another X user who reported problems. Does anyone else have this problem?
Since Instagram and its parent company, Meta, have not yet released an official comment, the outage seems to be continuing. It is uncertain what caused the technical issues.
For information on the outage, users are advised to visit Downdetector and the Instagram status page. To stay in touch in the meantime, a lot of people are using different social media sites.
Instagram DMs: what are they?
Instagram DMs are simply an in-app messaging function that lets people privately share and exchange text, images, Reels, and posts.
Instagram direct messages provide you the opportunity to interact with friends and work together on common interests.
All other aspects of the application appear to be functioning well, despite the fact that DMs are temporarily malfunctioning.
